This user guide will provide you with information on the Emissions Overview Dashboard, the central hub on the Avarni platform where you can easily explore your emission data using various built-in visualizations to gain valuable insights into your organization’s carbon footprint and identify areas for emissions reduction.
Content:
Begin by selecting the desired month and year for your emissions overview from the Start Date component located at the top right of the dashboard.
📌 Note: The dashboard will provide insights based on a 12-month time period from the selected month and year.
💡 Tip: You have the option to adjust the display of the Emissions Overview according to the status of your emissions: Unmapped, Ready for Review, Flagged, Excluded and Confirmed.
Dashboard highlights
At the top of the Dashboard, you will find the following information:
Total carbon emissions:
The overall sum of carbon emissions emitted during the selected 12-month time period.
Average monthly emissions:
The total carbon emissions divided by 12 months, providing an average monthly total.
Suppliers:
The total number of suppliers identified from the provided data during the 12-month time period.
Emissions by top suppliers:
Understand how much of your supply chain emissions come from your top 10, 25, or 50 suppliers. For example, the below screenshot shows that 23.86% of total supplier emissions derive from the top 10 suppliers.
📌 Note: The term ‘t CO2e’ refers to the tonnes of emissions displayed as a Carbon Dioxide equivalent.
Insights on carbon footprint
Explore insights on your carbon footprint through a breakdown by scope in three sections.
💡 Tip: Graphs can be downloaded as a spreadsheet by selecting the down arrow button:
1. Your Scope Breakdown:
Provides a breakdown of total emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, with percentages for easy tracking compared to previous years.
2. Top 10 emissions per Scope:
Explore the most carbon-intensive aspects in your organization with visual breakdowns by:
GHG Category: Category defined by GHG protocol standards (For example: Scope 3, category 1 - Purchased goods and services).
Supplier: Name of the supplier, vendor, or contractor (For example: Microsoft).
Factor: Emission factors used in the emission calculations (For example: Scope 3 - accommodation).
Organization: Breakdown of your organizational structure into suborganizations, business units, or physical assets (For example: Avarni Marketing emitted more than Avarni Finance).
Country: Geographical location of emissions, aggregating emissions data at a country level.
3. Key Emission Drivers:
A visual breakdown of emissions hotspots across your organization, broken down by GHG Category, supplier, emission factor, organization, and country.
This graph breaks down your most carbon-intensive operations, providing a running percentage across your top 10, 25, or 50 for GHG category, supplier, factor, organization, and country:
💡 Tip: Use the organization view in Key Emission Drivers to view emissions at a group level by switching the view from Graph to Tree
