Once you have imported your data, you will be able to locate your emissions in the Emissions Hub, where you can effortlessly view, review, filter, edit and export all your emissions data.

To access the emissions hub, select Emission Hub on the left hand menu:

Useful features

📗 Review status: There are three different statuses for each line item:

  • Confirm: Confirm the mapping of the emission factor to the line item is correct. For example: Air ticket expenses has been matched to business travel .

  • Flagged: Unknown line items that require further analysis. For example: Line item is missing data or cannot identify the correct emission factor to map.

  • Excluded: Line items that are not required and can be removed in the final conversation. For example: Tax payments or salary payments.

📗 Supplier name: Clicking on a supplier's name will open up a google search tab, allowing you to search up the supplier's name within a matter of seconds.

  • Search field (highlighted yellow): Allows you to search for key words.

  • Set emissions sorting (highlighted purple): Sort emissions by different factors such as Activity Class, Description, Scope, GHG Category, Country, Supplier, Last updated at, Status and much more.

  • Filter emission entries (highlighted red): Allows you to filter according to different fields. For example: If you would like to only view data against Country = Australia, you can filter through here.

  • Change table’s density (highlighted blue): Allows you to change the density of the table.

  • Show/Hide columns (highlighted as green): Allows you to show and hide the columns. For example: If the Input Unit is not being used during the Review Process, you can simply hide it.

  • Toggle full screen (highlighted as orange): Allows you to enlarge the screen.

  • Download as excel (highlighted as pink): Allows you to download the information as an excel file.

📗 Group emission entries: This feature is useful when reviewing many rows of data. It allows you to group the entries into Activity Class, Description, Vendor or Country.

We recommend first trying to group the data into Activity Class and Description and reviewing your data from there.

This will help eliminate thousands of rows down to hundreds or less rows for you to review:

For example: The below has a count of 84165 data when we view as ‘All Records’:

However, after Grouping it by ‘Activity Class’, we can see that the count has reduced to 8, which will allow you to review your data much quicker:

Export emission entries

To export your emission entries, follow the below steps:

1. Navigate to the Emissions Hub on the left hand menu.

2. Click on the arrow down button on the top right toolbar

You have two options: Download to Excel or Download to CSV.

Download to Excel

This will export an Excel workbook of your currently filtered set of emissions, which will include all calculation formulas baked in to the worksheet. Aside from emissions, it will also export:

  • FX Conversion Rates

  • Inflation Rates

  • Cumulative Inflation Rates (inflation rates calculated over multiple years)

  • Unit Conversion Rates (non-spend)

  • Emission Factors

  • GWP values

This ensures that you can trace all data and calculations back to their source, and see exactly how your emissions were calculated.

Note: Excel downloads are limited to 100,000 rows to improve performance. If you need to export more data out of Avarni in Excel form, please filter your data and export it in batches.

Formulas are generated using newer Excel functions (eg. XLOOKUP), found only in Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021+. If you have an older version of Excel, this functionality will not work as intended.

Download to CSV

This will download a simple CSV (comma seperated value) file which can be opened in Excel. There is no limit to the number of rows you can export as CSV.

Downloading

You will receive a notification that your download has been started. You will receive a link sent to your email shortly. Note that this link will expire 24 hours after it is generated.
