You need admin access to add or remove people.

The three roles

Role

Can do

Admin

Everything, plus manage people, edit the organisation and manage API keys

User

Add and edit data, methods, rules, factors, suppliers and reports

Viewer

Read everything and download charts. Cannot change anything

Most of your team are Users. Keep at least two Admins so you are not locked out if one leaves.

Invite someone

  1. Go to Settings › Users.

  2. Type the email address and press Enter. Add as many as you need.

  3. Select Invite.

  4. Find them in the list below, set their Role, and select Save.

Everyone arrives as a User. If you want someone to be a Viewer or an Admin, change it straight after inviting.

This matters for auditors. A person invited and left alone has full edit access to your data.

What the person receives

An email with the subject "You have been added to [your organisation] on Avarni".

Someone new to Avarni is asked to confirm their account and set a password. Someone who already has an Avarni account goes straight to your organisation.

Single sign-on

If your organisation uses single sign-on, people at your domain get an account automatically the first time they sign in. You do not need to invite them.

You still set their role. A person who signs in for the first time arrives as a User.

Single sign-on and password accounts work side by side in the same organisation, which is how you give access to someone outside your domain.

Change someone's role

Change it in the Role column and select Save.

Remove someone

Select the delete icon next to their name and confirm.

This removes their access to your organisation. Their Avarni account continues to exist, and anything they created stays.

Removing someone from your identity provider does not remove them from Avarni. Do both.

Auditors and other outsiders

Invite them, then set their role to Viewer before they sign in.
