The Overview gives you your headline figures. Graphs let you build your own views.

The Overview shows your total emissions, your average monthly emissions, your supplier count, and your largest suppliers by emissions.

Below that, the Carbon Footprint section breaks your footprint down three ways: by scope, by your largest sources within each scope, and by whatever driver you choose.

Set the period with Start Date. The window runs twelve months from there.

The Overview counts rows that are Confirmed, Flagged or Pending.

It leaves out rows that are Excluded, and rows with no emission factor attached.

This matters when you compare it against anything else. See below.

Bar, pie and table are available.

Group or stack by month, quarter, year, scope, GHG category, activity class, country, supplier, factor, entity, facility, review status, input unit or any custom field.

This is the most common question about this screen, and there are two main causes.

Review status. The Overview counts only Confirmed, Flagged and Pending rows. A new graph has no status filter, so it counts everything including Excluded and Not mapped rows. A graph will usually read higher.

To match the Overview, add a status filter to your graph and select Confirmed, Flagged and Pending.

Date range. The Overview opens on 1 January of the current year and runs twelve months. A new graph opens on the full range of your data.

Set both to the same period before comparing.

Two smaller causes. The Overview's scope breakdown shows only the top ten sources and discards the rest, while a graph rolls the remainder into an Other bucket. And Average Monthly Emissions always divides by twelve, whether or not you have twelve months of data.

The period you choose is held in the page address. If you navigate using the sidebar, the logo or a breadcrumb, the address is rebuilt without it and the Overview returns to 1 January.

To keep a period, bookmark the URL or use the browser back button rather than the sidebar.

Changes save as you make them.

Use the graph actions menu to Clone or Delete. There is no share link, so send the person a copy or schedule an email report.

The chart menu on the graph itself offers PNG, JPEG, PDF and SVG for putting a picture into a document.

Table graphs also export to CSV directly.
