Factor Explorer is where you look up what factors exist. Changing the factor on a row happens in the Emissions Hub.
Look up a factor
Go to Factor Explorer.
Search, or select Filter factors.
Filter by name, description, unit type, unit, year, region, factor series, scope, GHG category, or the gas values themselves.
Each filter has an include and an exclude option.
The map tab shows factors by region if you are working out what is available for a country.
Factor Explorer is read-only. You cannot change a row's factor, export the list or compare two factors side by side from here.
Change the factor on one row
Go to Emissions Hub.
Find the row.
Select the factor cell and choose a different factor.
The dropdown filters by factor series, region, year and GHG category. Turn on Include Sub-regions to widen a regional search. If the list shows No factors found, select Reset to default to return to the filters the list opened with. This does not change the factor on the row.
Change the factor on many rows
Filter the Emissions Hub to the rows you want.
Select the rows.
Use the factor selector at the bottom of the grid.
Every selected row must share an input unit type. If they do not, the selector is disabled and shows "Unit types don't match!".
To fix that, filter by input unit type as well, and do each type separately.
Before you override
A single row overridden by hand does not change anything else. The next import of similar data gets the original factor again.
If you find yourself overriding the same kind of row repeatedly, change the Method instead so the right factor is applied at import. See Build and edit a Method.
